The ECC Vision: As a growing church, we will interact with the wider communities in which we are a part – Elon University, greater Burlington, and faith partners in inclusive, creative, and enabling ways, always striving to be faithful to our calling as witnesses of the Gospel.  We will reach out with ministries of serving & caring, teaching & learning, the arts, and worship.

You are welcome to visit and join our church family where all find God's passionate love in action.

The Moravian Love Feast is on Sunday, November 30 at 5:00 pm. As was the case last year, we will need to have our members involved in serving since students are still on Thanksgiving break. If you are interested in helping be a Diener, please sign-up on the insert. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Religious Life at Elon University and Elon Community Church United Church of Christ. Traditional English, American, and Moravian Christmas music for choirs, brass, tympani, handbells, and organ will be offered. With weather permitting, the brass quartet will play Moravian carols from the sanctuary portico, beginning at 4:30 pm. The official prelude of Advent and Christmas selections will begin in the sanctuary at 4:45 pm. This worship service has been a long standing favorite of our church and community. The congregation is asked to invite friends, neighbors, and relatives to this special seasonal service. This service is approximately one hour in length.
The traditional Service of Nine Lessons and Carols will be presented in the sanctuary of the Elon Community Church on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2014 during the 10:30 AM traditional worship service.  The service of Nine Lessons and Carols was originated in England in 1880.  While musical selections change from year to year, the scripture passages, prayers, and benediction remain the same and are exactly like those said at King’s College Chapel, Cambridge, England, where the service was first held, and in other churches and cathedrals in many countries of the world. Participating this year will be the chancel, children’s, and hand bell choirs, and instruments include harp, cello, flute, and organ. The congregation is asked to invite friends and relatives to this special seasonal service.  Additionally, Elon University faculty, staff, and students and the Elon community will be invited.  Announcements will be made beginning at 10:25 AM, with the prelude of instrumental and hand bell music beginning promptly at 10:30 AM. The congregation is asked to be seated by 10:25 AM. Latecomers should plan to be seated in the balcony.
