Children's
Classes
Stepping Stones (Toddlers)
Toddlers are wonderfully exuberant, active, and curious. Joyful
noise is an important part of this ministry through songs, play,
Bible stories, and conversations. Activities build knowledge
through repetition, and lots of hands-on activities.
Kaleidoscope (Ages 4-6)
Using their thirst of imagination, children encounter the Bible
through drama, storytelling, crafts, and the arts. Materials
used in this class provide active engagement with the Bible
which help students deepen their faith and their relationship
to God and each other.
Connections (Ages 7-10)
Hands-on exploration of Bible stores through the arts, activities,
and imagination harness enthusiasm. Materials employed in this
class follow the seasons and themes of the church year, providing
global context, and extending the concept of the learning to
home, the community, and the world.

Youth
Classes
Oasis (Ages 11-13)
By using a variety of ways to explore the scriptures, the Bible
is brought to life. Opportunities to explore faith and the world,
and an understanding of mission and service at a deeper level
are encouraged.
Wayfarers (Ages 14-18)
This comprehensive programs encourages active exploration of
the Bible and the meaning of faith in each person's life. The
materials, which follow the seasons and themes of the church
year, recognized a variety of learning styles with a range of
approaches and media. Parent and lay leaders are program facilitators.

Adult
Classes
Adult Sunday School Class
This is a a Bible class which studies the International Lesson
series. Each student receives a quarterly which includes the
lesson material for three months. Walter Boyd has served for
many years as the president of the class and Ruth Cheek is
the pianist. The class is taught by Dr. Robert Vick, Dr. William
Rippy, Judge Marsh McLelland, Rev. Richard McBride, and Dr.
Earl Danieley.
Emmaus Road (Young and Middle Adults)
This class is designed to assist students in their spiritual
growth and understanding of God and what God calls us to be
and do. A variety of topics will be discussed, pertinent to
life situations in today's culture. Join Tanya Gold and other
young to middle adults for this enlightening and encouraging
discussion group.
Inquirers' Class
This class is open to new members and those interested in
becoming members of Elon Community Church, United Church of
Christ. Discussions will include stewardship, sacraments,
covenant, mission, and discipleship opportunities. This class
is held in the Gregory Library on the first floor of the building
and is taught by Dr. Daniel Kuhn.
Seekers' Class
This class is intentionally a discussion-based class that
chooses curriculum which could be called faith-in-action or
varieties of searching for more faithful discipleship. No
topic or though is too controversial to "lay on the table."
This class is facilitated by various leaders.
